LSORT for Windows is a general
purpose sort/merge program for Microsoft Windows 2000 and above
including Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista,
Microsoft Windows Vista 64bit, Windows Server 2000, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows
Server 2003 R2, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7.
Microsoft
Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows ME or Windows NT Release 3.51 are
also supported using earlier versions of LSORT (4.06 and earlier).
It will sort/merge text files, xBase** files, delimited files and
fixed files on 1 - 15 sort fields (using the Windows GUI front end) or from 1 -
32 fields using the Command Line sort engine. LSORT sorts files larger than
available memory. Custom Sort exits and custom field types are available.
LSORT will merge up to 5 sorted text, xBase**, delimited or fixed
format files into a single sorted file based on 1 - 15 sort fields (using the
Windows GUI front end) or from 1 - 32 fields using the Command Line sort
engine.
**xBase files (dBase II, dBase III and FoxPro) are only supported on
versions 4.06 and below. The functionality is included in the latest versions, but hasn't been
tested.
The LSORT package also includes LSRTNT, a sort filter that can
replace the built in SORT commands available in Windows 9x and NT4. LSRTNT
reads from standard input and writes to standard output. It only works with
text files or delimited files and can not sort files that are larger than
available memory.
Versions of LSORT are also available for DOS, Windows 3.x and OS/2
operating systems. These versions are no longer being enhanced but are
available from the download page.
For more information, see the Frequently Asked
Questions page or the LSORTxxx.TXT files available in the download area.
LSORT is Shareware. The recommended contribution is $35.00 and
